Two and a half hours later…

I just spent a LOT of time working on what turned out to be a big project, which I won’t even completely finish before bed. I got three banker’s boxes full of my literary books (poetry, great works, classics, Shakespeare, Cliffs Notes, books about writing, thesaurus, etc), plus my notes from my college classes as an English Lit major, out of the garage. I had to make room for them on my bookshelves, which meant a lot of random stuff had to go into the now-emptied boxes, or somewhere else. Tomorrow I will be sorting all the stuff on the bookshelves and putting them in some semblance of order.

I will also be going through my notes. I will be looking for several things. One, anything from classes with Dr Schwartz, who I am positive did all the stuff I’m thinking of about quest stories. Two, anything about creative writing, which would primarily be Dr Mahoney’s classes. Three, anything else that might be of use that I’ve forgotten about. I can’t believe it’s going on four years this December since I finished my undergrad degree!

Opening my boxes and looking at the books that have been in boxes for about two years (I think?) was like Christmas. “I forgot I still have this one!” “Wow, look at all of these” (Shakespeare). It was SO much fun. 🙂 I can’t wait to continue this trip down memory lane tomorrow. Having all of my books at my fingertips puts me in that writer’s frame of mind again. In fact, in a way I feel a lot more like ME than I have in a really long time. I’m glad I remembered NaNoWriMo this year because whether I finish or not, it’s already had a wonderful effect on me.
