I got engaged in November 2007, and started planning the wedding January. We booked a couple vendors before my birthday, but most of the planning has been done after that. And by the time my birthday comes around again, there will probably only be little details left to plan. I’d say wedding plans definitely have something to do with the Lovers card!

As for the card’s interpretation “choices,” I can say that planning a wedding involves a LOT of choices. From colors to cakes, ribbons to rings, it’s important to me that I make the right choices. I want my wedding to be perfect, a reflection of who we are. I admit, I have been to many weddings (my cousins are all older than me) and I want to impress everyone and show that I have as much taste as any of them. I want everyone to leave and still be talking about how beautiful everything is, classic and traditional with unique, modern details thrown in to spice things up. I care about the little things, and about every choice, because I’m the only one who has my vision of the wedding of my dreams, and I’m the only one that can make it happen.

In June of 2008, I moved in with my fiance. Instead of seeing him two days a week, we are together every day. We have been able to get to know each other a lot better, and learning to live with all those little annoyances that you don’t always see if you aren’t living together. We’ve become much closer, and living together has helped us to strengthen our bond and commitment to each other. We are learning how to manage a house, and creating our own routines. This year of the Lovers is definitely more about “Us” than any other year I’ve had.

My fiance’s birthday is May 26, so he’s working through Temperance. Learning the dance of a couple, the give and take that our marriage will be. Letting me have my way with most of the wedding details, but putting his foot down if he really doesn’t like one of my ideas.

Since we are not getting married until after our birthdays, I will be in a Chariot year and he will be in a Devil year. It will be interesting to see how those cards influence the wedding day and the beginning of our marriage.
