I did three more collage Tarot cards on my lunch break… I should have gotten a LOT more done, but given the images I collected it’s hard to do some of them. It took me probably close to 45 minutes just to figure out what I could do for the Wheel. I finally (FINALLY!) thought that since I didn’t have much in the way of wheels or circles, I could represent time through the seasons. The bottom of the card has a snowy town and the top has flowers and a butterfly (edible, I think it’s all cookies). I also added a cute little boy, around 3 years old, who was Robin Hood for Halloween. I think that’s actually a pretty accurate idea – the wheel spins, you win some you lose some, rob from the rich and give to the poor…
I did the Hermit and the Wheel of Fortune, then skipped to the Star since I had a few pictures set aside for that. I finally decided to just pencil on some blank cards the name, and when I add images I can just cover the card name. That way I can skip around a little. So the next card I’m going to do is… maybe the Sun.
So what am I using as the basic card? It’s bright pink cardstock that I found somewhere, maybe 4×6? I’m not sure since I don’t have one in front of me to measure at the moment. It will show on some cards, since not all have big background images. Oh well. I am using regular scotch tape and hoping that doesn’t show too bad when I’m scanning them into the computer.
In other news, I am finally getting a desk! My Walmart dresser that I’ve been using for my “writing stuff” finally broke, after 7 years, and I found one on Office Depot’s website for $169.99 with $70 off instant savings, and by adding a cheap-o pack of erasers I could use a code I found online for $25 off a purchase of $100 or more. Plus no shipping, since I can pick it up in the store. Just add tax, and it’s a $170 desk (plus erasers) for about $82!!! I could not resist… and definitely need it for NaNo.
