I feel that I have a creative soul. I love to write, but I also love doing “arts and crafts.”
In school I thought I was not so great at art class because I thought everything had to be “perfect.” Even when my teachers said that there were no mistakes in art, you just keep going… I didn’t think I was good enough. As an adult I can see that perfection is not artistic, and that I have something to say through art that is unique from anyone else, by the simple fact that I am an individual.
I am starting this blog as a way of showing what I’m creating for Art Every Day Month and the Creative Every Day Challenge. In the future I will probably join Goddess Leonie’s Creative Goddess course, and I will post my work for that too. I hope to eventually branch out and show art I’ve created for myself as well, independent of these projects.
My name is Michelle and I am becoming an artist.
Thank you for your kind words on my blog. It seems like we have a lot in common. I was inspired to start my blog for Art Evert Day Month too. The closing line of this post also resonates with me. I lead a creative team at work, but I never used the title "creative" or "artist" to describe myself. "I am becoming an artist" seems to fit me as well.
