After a procedure February 2 to check out the disc (L5S1) that needed to be fixed, it was found to be a lot worse than originally thought. The surgery was moved up and happened late Wednesday night, February 3. Everything went very well, the surgeon is quite pleased. Recovery is slow but he is now out of the hospital and spending a few weeks at my parents’ house, where my mother is home all day to be with him. He has started walking, but still has to be very careful. Full recovery time is about 4 months.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, and please keep them coming. Today was 6 months since our wedding, and I’m happy to report that he should be “all better” by the time we hit the big one year anniversary. I hope to return to posting early next week.
