NaNoWriMo 2010 in Facebook status updates
[for privacy, most of my friends are referred to only by initials… though I am probably the only person who will ever read this marathon entry!]
I WILL win NaNoWriMo 2010… to help make that happen (and since Mark and I won’t be taking a vacation this year), I am taking 7 vacation days in November! (Possibly more, I’m waiting to see…)
February 18, 2010 at 3:46pm
In true NaNo fashion, I wrote 877 words and then Blogger told me it didn’t post properly and I thought it had eaten every last word! Luckily I was able to recover the whole thing thanks to auto-save. π
A Desire to Get Creative: I miss NaNo…

I have to start writing children’s books. That is step one toward my new goal of being on a Newbery Award shortlist.
May 16, 2010 at 4:16pm
My something new I learned today: In adult dystopian fiction the protagonist is utterly defeated in the end; in children’s dystopian fiction the protagonist is able to escape or create a new society, or otherwise obtain a sense of hope for the future.

I ordered a book from NaNoWriMo. They sent the wrong one. I told them & they are sending the right one, so I sent a $25 donation to cover the cost of the first book they sent + shipping. Less than 24 hours later I got an email that I earned $24.98 in affiliate fees for someone buying Leonie Allan’s divine dreaming meditation kit via my blog! So essentially the free book I paid for… is still free. LOL.

Currently reading: “A Tale Dark and Grimm” by Adam Gidwitz, in preparation for meeting him at the WLS meeting October 19… he graduated the same year I did, which means he’s published at my age… that totally makes me want to get back to editing my 2007 NaNoWriMo novel and start submitting it! But not until after I finish reading this awesome book… Shh! I’m reading!
October 5, 2010 at 10:26am
Look at your novel, now look at mine… your inner editor is now DIAMONDS! β₯

[this linked to a post on the NaNoWriMo forums that spoofed the Old Spice commercials]
Just looked at my old FB status messages. From 9/5 – 10/21 I read 9 books. That’s a lot of books! (Next up: Delirium by Lauren Oliver. Which I have 10 days to read, because in November I’m not allowed to read unless my word count is where it should be.)
October 21, 2010 at 2:40pm
Finally have a GOOD working title for my Cassandra NaNoNovel. It’s gonna be called “Cursed.” Simple, not too revealing, hopefully makes you want to read more…
October 25, 2010 at 10:03pm
Million things to do, and step one is reading through my notes and the 8300 words of novel I wrote last NaNo to reacquaint myself with it!
October 28, 2010 at 9:17am
To borrow a tune: “It’s beginning to feel a lot like NaNo…” I have created my 2010 NaNo spreadsheet. I have typed the “No Plot? No Problem!” writing kit’s Noveling Briefs and sent the .doc file to my free.Kindle email address. I have my reward stickers for every 1000 words I write (Care Bears this year). And I made my 2010 NaNo desktop background/calendar with word count goals for easy access. π

This video is brilliant.

Doing a character questionnaire for Cassandra. If a song played every time this character walked into the room, what song would it be? My answer: “Darth Vader theme?”
October 30, 2010 at 11:19pm
rerun of NCIS on USA tonight is about McGee’s book, so there is lots of talk about his writing process and the novel itself… perfect for the end of October!!! π
October 30, 2010 at 11:26pm
The Poughkeepsie Area NaNoWriMo Kickoff Party today was SO much fun. Kickoff always gets NaNo started off on the right foot. π
October 31, 2010 at 7:06pm
Good thing I have my novel from last year printed up, and good thing it was only 8k, because I just realized I don’t have it on the computer anymore. So now with 2 hours until NaNo starts I am going to start retyping all of the old stuff. Or maybe I’m going to scan the pages in and then look for decent free OCR software.
October 31, 2010 at 9:59pm
After spending a few hours scanning and OCR-ing and fixing-the-OCR-ing (which I still feel is less work than re-typing 8000 words), I am just too DONE to start official noveling tonight, even though it’s after midnight and I can. I have Monday and Tuesday off from work, so I don’t mind this year.
November 1, 2010 at 1:03am
PS- If you want to buy me presents, I can list a bunch of things I want from the NaNo store… π
November 1, 2010 at 1:05am
Someone give me a surname for Cassandra, because I’m tired of calling her father Mayor LastName! LOL … wait, I got to 1060 words? That’s a sticker and some peanut M&M’s- go me! π (Is it sad that I’m already claiming rewards?)
November 1, 2010 at 9:44pm
The first 1k sticker of NaNo2010! π
November 1, 2010 at 10:23pm
NaNo Day 1 totals: 2068 words, 1 mini bag of peanut M&M’s, and 2 care bear stickers on the calendar. 3.95% of my total goal for the month accomplished. Will be in bed by 11:30pm.
November 1, 2010 at 11:15pm
I was going to start writing, but Mark just put on his new favorite movie, Julie and Julia. So I’m joining the fun on the couch sans computer.
November 2, 2010 at 9:35am
My NaNo Cheerleader friend Shoshanna Evers has alerted me that “NaNoWriMo, it’s Day TWO! We write novels, yes we DO!” . . . Except I haven’t written a word all day, so maybe I should get started? Still looking for a last name for Cassandra’s family (although I’ve grown kind of fond of Mayor LastName, I don’t think it will help me get published).
November 2, 2010 at 4:26pm
Up to 2312 words, after Googling to find the correct spelling of Lord Farquaad. As in, “I take the book I’m reading for English class out of my backpack. It’s a mythological story about the ogre who saved a beautiful princess from the evil Lord Farquaad.” (No judging. All’s fair in love, war, and NaNo.)
November 2, 2010 at 5:38pm
ctd: “I’ve never read this version… Somebody took the basic storyline & characters & set them in the present day, as if this could really happen in the USA. The kingdom of Duloc is loosely based on Washington, D.C., I think, which means Lord Farquaad represents the president. I know I’m supposed to be understanding all the hidden meanings in things like that, but I might have to get the Cliff’s Notes for this one.”
November 2, 2010 at 5:50pm
[comment, also by me] That’s right, 12 year old Cassandra needs Cliff’s Notes… for Shrek! *eye roll* Oh NaNoBrain, how I have missed you.
November 2, 2010 at 5:50pm
2445, 10052 total (took a break to start my laundry) and suddenly my MC has an older brother who’s away at college.
November 2, 2010 at 6:46pm
[comment, also by me] And apparently, he’s based somewhat on my Uncle Mickey. “To me, Peter’s the one who tormented me and took the mechanical box out of my mama doll to see how she talked.”
November 2, 2010 at 6:50pm
725 before dinner, now time to get back to work.
November 2, 2010 at 8:39pm
3051 and counting…
November 2, 2010 at 10:14pm
[comment, also by me] …and getting a sticker for getting to 3k π
November 2, 2010 at 10:17pm
3165 but most of what I have written today is crap. I think my idea is awesome, but I don’t know if I can really pull it off. I feel like it’s the book I would love to read if somebody else, somebody talented, wrote it. But right now it’s just horrible. (Yeah, including last year’s words I’m just over 10k, so this is right on time. Don’t worry, I’m not giving up and starting over this year.)
November 2, 2010 at 10:28pm
β3438: Cass, still 12, is writing in her journal. “I used to write about dumb things like what I wanted for my birthday, and then another page about how happy or mad I was depending on whether or not I had gotten the Barbie (yes) or pony (no) that I wanted.”
November 2, 2010 at 11:00pm
Today words: 2,072 // 2010 words: 4,140 // Total words: 11,747
November 2, 2010 at 11:48pm
Noveling at work (lunch break)
November 3, 2010 at 4:33pm
1065 words on my lunch break, which means only about 1000 when I get home at 9. π
November 3, 2010 at 5:22pm
5809 in 3 days. Under 2k today, but I did get my 1667 plus two so I’m still satisfied. π Of course, the NaNo site says I hit 5707 because I updated, then went back to write the last 102 but didn’t get that in officially before midnight. But still, I am ahead of schedule and as long as I get at least 1667 on days I work, I’m not going to have any problem.
November 4, 2010 at 12:34am
Uh oh! Cassandra has to spurn Apollo, it’s part of the mythology, but he’s not happy about it: “What the Hades are you talking about?” Apollo shouts, fire dancing in his eyes. Suddenly I can see the family resemblance to his brother Ares. “You can’t have a boyfriend, you swore you’d marry *me*!”
November 4, 2010 at 2:07pm
6513 (704 written at lunch, more interruptions than yesterday) – now to figure out how I want Apollo to punish Cassandra’s boyfriend. fun stuff! π
November 4, 2010 at 2:56pm
799 to go in a half hour, and I’m… researching what my new character’s laugh might sound like by watching youtube. gotta love NaNoNovel research methods! (earlier I got his last name from a random name generator)
November 4, 2010 at 11:29pm
Day Four totals: 2001 today, 7810 this month, 15417 total. 190 less than my goal but I can easily catch that up tomorrow or over the weekend. I am really happy with my progress so far, and having fun with my new character (Cassandra is getting a boyfriend, and Apollo [in a later scene] is NOT happy about it!)
November 5, 2010 at 12:04am
Look, the Care Bears are having party to celebrate my word count!
November 5, 2010 at 12:41am
going on less than 4 hours of sleep, trying to get back to sleep but my brain is ahead of me… something about executives in a meeting discussing my novel being edited for TV and one guy says something like “Jim Carrey in his voice singing ‘Nice duck and underwear thong'” … wtf brain? go back to sleep for real! NaNoBrain… it’s not just a myth.
November 5, 2010 at 6:52am
[comment from RQ] I’m going to have to have you sing a line or two when I see you, so I can get the full appreciation!
November 5, 2010 at 9:04pm
[comment from me] That’s all the words I know, it’s not interesting, it’s the tune of “Partridge in a pear tree” from that Christmas song
Looks like write ins this weekend are out, at least tomorrow is definite. π¦
November 5, 2010 at 8:22pm
I’m not traveling, but I *am* using my sexy brown NaNoWriMo travel mug while I write tonight. π
November 5, 2010 at 8:45pm
[originally linked to the NaNoWriMo store, but the travel mug is not there right now]
I lied, I haven’t been writing. Computer is too distracting! Time to break out the Alphasmart and try to bang out 2190 before midnight.
November 5, 2010 at 10:02pm
PS- bad day, don’t feel like writing even though I don’t want to fall behind… all my awesome WriMo friends’ FB posts are kicking my butt into gear, yay! be back later to update!
November 5, 2010 at 10:08pm
2190? No. 1667? Probably not. 4 hours of sleep plus hubby asleep next to me does not a writer make. π¦
November 5, 2010 at 10:44pm
I hit 9333 by midnight, but due to the craziness of my Friday I lied and told the nano site at 11:58 that I was at 9500. I feel no shame. I will get to 9500 and then go to bed, more tomorrow. 500 behind where I want to be is a lot closer than I thought I’d be!
November 6, 2010 at 12:03am
[coment by me] 12:08am, 9500 words exactly. SO tempted to just get to 10k tonight, but I’m going on 4 hours, so I’m just gonna give myself two more Care Bears stickers on the calendar and hit the sack.
November 6, 2010 at 12:09am
[comment by KC] You are awesome! π
November 6, 2010 at 12:55pm
[comment by me] After the day I had yesterday, I feel good about the writing I did last night. I definitely feel awesome. π Then again, in 2007 by the end of day 5 I had 11,253! That was a crazy fast year, but I was only working 6 hours a week so that explains it.
November 6, 2010 at 1:10pm
[comment by KC] Holy cow….I can’t imagine that many words in less than a week
November 6, 2010 at 1:22pm
I haven’t written anything since I woke up, but the laundry is done, the stove and burners are clean, the kitchen floor is vacuumed, I washed dishes, I fed my husband (and myself) lunch, I took out something to defrost for dinner, and I’m backing up my Kindle.
November 6, 2010 at 2:36pm
Looks like I’ll be going to the write-in tomorrow. Panera at 1pm, who’s in?
November 6, 2010 at 4:24pm
Where my WriMos at? Where my WriMos at? Where my, where my, where my WriMos at? … Yeah, okay, so I didn’t write anything yet, STILL. I might have to set up my old laptop for writing. Uninstall everything I don’t need (including solitaire), install Q10, turn off the internet signal…
November 6, 2010 at 9:06pm
[comment by RQ] Sounds like classic procrastination! Then again, hubby just ran to get me coffee from Dunkin’ because he doesn’t want to sit down an write a 600 word paper he has due at midnight. I don’t have the heart to tell him that 600 words would take me less than 45 minutes, including formatting. *sigh*
November 6, 2010 at 9:50pm
[comment by me] 361 down, 2139 to go… one hour and 45 minutes. I might have to switch to a different scene that comes to me faster.
November 6, 2010 at 10:15pm
5 digit party… 10,009! (plus what I wrote last year, my total is now 17,616)
November 6, 2010 at 10:34pm
10,500
November 6, 2010 at 11:28pm
[comment from KC] Bitch. (lol)
November 6, 2010 at 11:29pm
[comment by me] I love you too. (11250 is my official word count for day 6, but I’m still finishing this scene because it’s fun.)
November 7, 2010 at 12:10am
11250 final count at the end of day 6… fell another 250 behind of my personal goal, but still looking good. Every day I have managed more than the 1667 minimum. Tomorrow I’ll be at a write-in for a few hours and hope to get caught up. Looking for 14k by midnight on day 7.
November 7, 2010 at 12:08am
Don’t forget to Fall Back! π My favorite day of NaNoWriMo. I mean November (no I don’t).
November 7, 2010 at 12:28am
Had SO much fun with RQ and KC this morning, and now they left and RD, AE and MR are here with me. Maybe I’ll actually get some work done now?
November 7, 2010 at 1:07pm
The good news is I just typed a LOT into my novel file. The bad news is that it’s my notes about scenes and snippets I need to write, so I’m not actually counting them in my word count. BUT it will make it easier to bounce around writing things here and there if I kind of know where they go.
November 7, 2010 at 2:50pm
Q10 is not giving me an accurate word count. I forgot that it has brain farts when you get to a certain length. So I’ve switched back to WriteMonkey, but it’s including my notes in the word count. So I may have to take them out. (i.e. print the current version in Word with tiny text and no spacing just to keep the notes where they belong, then delete them from the WM version of the file)
November 7, 2010 at 4:06pm
12,050 and counting π
November 7, 2010 at 7:29pm
I was going for a snack, but instead I washed dishes. Now I want to write at least another 500 words before I allow myself to get up and do something else again. And those 500 words include an IRPDG invasion into my novel . . . and probably the only one who might know about the IRPDG would be my sister KM, and then maybe only if I tell her what it stands for. But I am hugely excited about it.
November 7, 2010 at 7:57pm
12,555 – 1445 to go to catch up to where I want to be, and I have 3 hours to go. Now THAT’S what I’m talking about! π Feeling better after my less-than-productive write-in day (though I had a TON of fun socializing), and now it’s time for leftover thanksgiving-y dinner (last night was turkey burgers, sliced carrots, garlic mashed potatoes, and gravy). Yay!
November 7, 2010 at 9:03pm
Took a bit of a break, now it’s back to writing. My total for 2010 is 12,555 and my grand total is 20,162. Act One (up to and including the curse) is 17,136, which I think is not bad for a 60k novel. Now to work on the hard part: all the stuff about the war. As I said before, tonight I want 1445 more words in, now, an hour and 40 minutes.
November 7, 2010 at 10:20pm
13003. Yay! 997 words behind my 2k/day goal, but I’m still really happy with my progress. I tend to write slowly at times (I can’t do word wars, I would never win them, and then the competitive Aries that I am would be upset) but somehow every night I’ve managed to crank it out. If I do 1k at lunch tomorrow, and 2k at home, I’ll be back on track. I will try.
November 7, 2010 at 11:44pm
Didn’t write on my lunch break, but I’m not concerned. I seem to work better at night anyway. I do have a set of Novel Outline questions that I did last year, but I didn’t have a lot of answers. Now that I know more about the story I’m writing I am going to revisit and finish it.
November 8, 2010 at 2:03pm
I kinda don’t feel like writing at all… but my goal for tonight is 968 to keep with my 1746 daily minimum to reach 60k total (including 7607 from last year)… or at least close to that.
November 8, 2010 at 10:47pm
331 words like pulling teeth tonight. I really just don’t want to write – now that I finished writing about Cass’s boyfriend, and Apollo is there punishing him, I can’t bear to have Cass actually get to him and see that. So I’ve moved forward to work on stuff happening during the war between NYC and NJ, and I am not interested. Might have to change some things about my plot…
November 8, 2010 at 11:22pm
Day 8 ends with 13,758 words. My lowest daily word count of NaNo ’10, I only wrote 755… which is a heckuva lot more than I would have had if I’d stuck with my “don’t wanna write” mood. But I forced through a bit, so I’m okay with it. No care bear sticker on the calendar for the day, but I will survive. LOL.
November 9, 2010 at 12:02am
[comment from me] Week Two slump, how predictable! π
November 9, 2010 at 12:04am
[comment from KC] I like the thought behind it. Not the fact that you are stuck. Where is the damn dislike button?
November 9, 2010 at 12:11am
[comment from me] Haha. No worries, I’m fine with it. That’s why I wrote over 1667 every day so far, and more than 2k on three days. So I could do 755 words and still be a little ahead. Maybe if I go to sleep now I will actually be less tired tomorrow and will write more. π I see you are almost to 10k, that’s awesome!
November 9, 2010 at 12:14am
657 words in 45 minutes on my lunch break, including some new discoveries for where some things can go. 14,415 total.
November 9, 2010 at 2:00pm
[comment by KC] Damnit….just when I thought I could catch up. *poke poke*
November 9, 2010 at 2:24pm
[comment by me] LMAO! I don’t *think* so. Not on my watch.
November 9, 2010 at 5:03pm
[comment by KC] π Keep it going girl!
November 9, 2010 at 5:39pm
In Cass and Apollo’s first face off, he got the last laugh when he cursed her. In the next one… well, he’ll probably win that one too, when I write it, but that last one is going to be bigger, and better, and Cass just might arise the victor. I have awesome ideas for the end of my novel (the beginning is done), and I don’t have enough research done yet on the middle.
November 9, 2010 at 8:38pm
[comment by me] So I’m working on stuff towards the end, but I won’t write the last last last part until I’m done with everything else.
November 9, 2010 at 8:38pm
and did i mention? less than 500 words til I hit the big 15k!!! π I have to write the end where Cass and Jake are back together. I really like him. I just can’t tell you HOW she breaks his punishment… because I’m not yet 100% sure how it happens myself!
November 9, 2010 at 8:58pm
15,070 and still going
November 9, 2010 at 9:46pm
[comment by me] …On second thought, maybe not. Very tired, and 15,070 is damn good. π
November 9, 2010 at 10:21pm
Anyone up for a write in tomorrow?
November 10, 2010 at 9:50am
Catching up on some DVRed shows before heading up to my parents’ house, where I have to start reading and taking notes on my printouts on the Trojan War… Why does NaNo always have to involve homework? *fake pout* Oh yeah… because I have cool novel ideas that require research! π
November 11, 2010 at 9:50am
I’m going to try Shoshanna Evers’s tactic… if I write 500 words, I get to play a game of solitaire. Let’s see how many words I can catch up by bedtime. (Ultimate goal: 4117 words today. Realistic goal: 2500, maybe more.)
November 11, 2010 at 3:56pm
[comment from AE] i’m going to try that as well. I did the whole clean my house instead of writing things today and now even further behind.
November 11, 2010 at 11:01pm
[comment by me] 3040 down, 1077 to go… but my sister called and I haven’t talked to her in a while, so we’ll see. I’m so happy.
November 11, 2010 at 11:03pm
517 down, 3600 to go. took my break (lost the first game of solitaire, won the second), now it’s time to write another 500 so i can go give my hubby the 16k high five.
November 11, 2010 at 4:32pm
1018 (total) down, 3099 to go. π break time: going downstairs to get Mom veggies for dinner. lame, I know, but I will also be adding a care bear sticker to my nano calendar. π
November 11, 2010 at 5:11pm
Okay, 16,393 total and it’s time for a dinner break. Will restart this 500 words when I come back to the computer. 2818 words to go today.
November 11, 2010 at 5:44pm
Just realized that hitting 16,393 by dinner means my total total (including last year) hit 24k! π
November 11, 2010 at 6:48pm
Congratulations to Cathy Hickey and Jeremiah French on their engagement, which they just announced on Facebook about 11 minutes ago!!! π
November 11, 2010 at 6:50pm
[comment by me] Oh, and… ESP? Tonight before dinner I was working on my novel for NaNoWriMo, and Jake and Cass (J and C) got engaged!!!!
November 11, 2010 at 7:05pm
Starting my post-dinner writing listening to “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield… “Staring at the empty page before you… reaching for something in the distance so close you can almost taste it… Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten.” β₯ This definitely goes on my NaNo Soundtrack! NaNoWriMo
November 11, 2010 at 7:03pm
Writing a story that takes place in NYC means setting scenes all over in some of my favorite places… I just decided that Cassandra is sitting on the steps of the Met for one scene, and then it hit me where Jake is for his “punishment” when she finds him: he was turned to stone, which is how she didn’t see him in her vision and… oh, but I am giving too many spoilers!
November 11, 2010 at 7:24pm
16,674! Officially past the 1/3 mark for 50k. NaNoWriMo
November 11, 2010 at 7:42pm
Oh Em Gee, this formerly tricky part is totally coming together in a way that absolutely makes sense! I β₯ when that happens during NaNoWriMo. π
November 11, 2010 at 8:18pm
17k! Actually, 17155. 2061 down, 2056 to go… wait, is that right? I just passed my halfway point for the day? Extra celebrations! π
November 11, 2010 at 8:32pm
“Mr. Hunter, I was wondering if you could tell me how much that statue weighs, the one I was sitting next to.” // “Why, Miss Cassandra?” He is looking at me suspiciously, trying to size me up. // “Well no, I just mean… well, you look like you’re very strong,” I say in my best, most flirtatious I Am Just A Weak Widdle Girl, And You Are A Big Strong Man Who Can Help Me voice.

[comment by RQ] “I Am Just A Weak Widdle Girl, And You Are A Big Strong Man Who Can Help Me voice” Yep – what woman HASN’T used that one before? That’s how I get a lot of my oil changes at a discount π
November 11, 2010 at 9:32pm
[comment by me] I used it all the time when I worked at Borders, and never for heavy stuff. My motto there was “Never do for yourself what you can get a boy to do for you.” And there were a couple guys that were always more than willing to climb up a ladder or look in the back so I wouldn’t have to.
November 11, 2010 at 9:33pm
17,488 – finally past where i wanted to be at midnight last night, working on the words I need for tonight. I can probably actually get to my goal if I keep at it!
November 11, 2010 at 9:23pm
2520 words and I’m definitely having some NaNo Brain moments (to know what that means, focus on the “No Brain” part), but I’m going to try to push for the 1597 I have left… need the music back now. Pandora desktop app is my lifesaver. (Writing about that Big Strong Man, I’m thinking gangsta rap? lol)
November 11, 2010 at 9:50pm
Writing tip: Adorable puppy writing buddy can help, but can also be a bit of a distraction. Fight through it! Must… not… rub… the… belly! Oh no, I have succumbed! Well, just for a minute. π
November 11, 2010 at 9:58pm
This is going off on a tangent that is not going to help me. I need to bring the conversation back to where I need it to be. I lay my hand on one of his biceps. “How much do you have to lift to get guns this big?” He chuckles, a deep clear sound. If I wasn’t still hung up on Jake, Harley might have actually had a chance.
November 11, 2010 at 10:01pm
youtube videos of guys bench pressing different size weight loads… research, I swear!
November 11, 2010 at 10:30pm
18107 total. 3013 today! I don’t think I’ll quite get 1104 in the next hour, but even if I don’t I am damn proud of myself today! π
November 11, 2010 at 10:51pm
Sissy (KM) called on her way home from work. Before she gets here I have 200 words to hit the official NaNoWriMo goal for today. So even if I don’t hit my personal goal (since my total goal is 52393, to add to last year’s 7607 to equal 60k), I’ll have under 900 to make up tomorrow. After today, my morale-boosting 3k+ day, that will be a piece of cake.
November 11, 2010 at 11:10pm
18,500!!!
November 11, 2010 at 11:35pm
I did it!!! 4128 words in one day. Technically I hit my goal a minute or two after midnight, but I updated the NaNo site at 11:58 to say I had 19,211 by midnight. Because I was maybe 20 words away, so I don’t care. Damn proud of myself for catching up today. π And now a little sister time, then collapsing into bed.
November 12, 2010 at 12:05am
I’m in bed and my fingers are moving with great speed… I’m working on my novel, what were YOU thinking?!
November 12, 2010 at 7:53pm
[[spoiler alert! this was written yesterday]] “He is ridiculous to expect a twelve year old to actually keep a promise six years later, not to mention that whole proposal to a tween thing being completely inappropriate and creepy. Then, after we fell in love, you actually chose me over him… a god… do you have any idea how flattered and turned on I am right now?”
November 12, 2010 at 8:38pm
[comment by me] β[[ctd.]] I laugh. “And to top it all off, you want me to help you pull the wool over his eyes… again! You have got to be the brassiest girl in the entire world, and I would be a major tool if I were to send you packing now.”
November 12, 2010 at 8:39pm
I’ve only written 222 today. Ugh, this is how I fall behind and NEED huge catch up days like yesterday! lol. Gonna try for at least 20k which is 556 more words and would only leave me about 950 off from my personal goal for the day… Then I’ll try to keep writing those 950 words, or close to it.
November 12, 2010 at 9:56pm
I was so happy to get to 20k (20,075 to be exact) . . . but then I saw that I am at 853 words today, and I can totally get to 1k for the day. So that is my goal, and I have 45 minutes to write 147 words, which is like a joke.
November 12, 2010 at 11:15pm
“I look around Jake’s bedroom. It feels weird to be here without him, and I wonder if I’ll find anything I don’t want to see. The garbage is empty, though, and there is nothing under the bed but dust bunnies.” — I swear, I almost wrote plot bunnies by mistake! #NaNoBrain
November 12, 2010 at 11:24pm
Day 12 final word count: 20,223 (1001 today)… exhausted now, bedtime
November 12, 2010 at 11:28pm
Saturday totals: 0 words, 12-ish hours on a road trip with mom to a Penguin Group warehouse book sale, 52 books purchased (29 for the library), $99 spent on books, $558.61 saved, 1 great day
November 14, 2010 at 1:01am
took care of my broken headlight, now heading to Panera early. anyone else want to join me before the write-in officially starts?
November 14, 2010 at 10:26am
1672 without getting up, before anyone else has even shown up for the write-in. Yay! To catch up to my personal goal for tonight, I have to write 2555 more today. I can do it. π
November 14, 2010 at 12:37pm
tomato basil bread at Panera… pretty good, actually
November 14, 2010 at 1:38pm
“I forgot that I am actually writing in 3rd person limited.” – KC on her noveling… I β₯ NaNoBrain π
November 14, 2010 at 1:49pm
Question. Does it count as writing 1000 words at a write-in if I wrote it all before anyone else showed up? If not, then I have to write 1000 words before everyone leaves…
November 14, 2010 at 2:03pm
BTW- now that people are at the write-in, I haven’t written anything in an hour. But part of that time was lunch time, so now that I’m done it’s time to put on my earphones and Pandora so I can actually get some writing done again. Goal is 25k by midnight, currently at 21,895.
November 14, 2010 at 2:10pm
Athena just wished Cassandra a happy 18th birthday… too bad she said it AFTER Apollo cursed her and punished her boyfriend!
November 14, 2010 at 2:23pm
“I can command a vision if my heart is true and my intention is pure… what the Hades does that even mean? Whatever it is, what I can read into it, the most important thing, is that I can have a vision on demand. Or at least, that’s what Athena seemed to imply. It sounds like it’s actually pretty modern. Vision On Demand, coming soon from Nextflix.” -my NaNo
November 14, 2010 at 2:33pm
22,412 this year is a lot less impressive than saying my 2009+2010 total is now 30,019, which is halfway to my 60k goal! π
November 14, 2010 at 2:53pm
[comment by my mom] Yay!!!!!
November 14, 2010 at 2:54pm
[comment by me] My Mommy the cheerleader, ladies and gentlemen! Let’s all give her a nice round of applause for always being super supportive of me. Thanks, Mommy! π
November 14, 2010 at 2:57pm
NaNo-ing into Gmail on my blackberry at the hospital, while hubby is in the ER again in lots of pain. Cass just forced a vision of dinner and wants to see if it comes true: “When I get home a little bit later, I am scared to go inside. I hesitate at the door. Schrodinger’s dinner. It both is and isn’t chicken with mac and cheese.”
November 14, 2010 at 6:03pm
[comment by me] written in the ER. Little break, then back to it.
November 14, 2010 at 6:14pm
[comment by KC] Like the story dislike that you are at the hospital. Hope that hubby is feeling better soon.
November 14, 2010 at 6:43pm
[comment by me] Thanks. At least I got over 2k done at Panera before Dad called me to go home.
November 14, 2010 at 6:45pm
315 in the hospital ER, which I’ll add to my txt file and update the NaNo site when I get home (well, to my parents’ house). Can someone tell me what the site says my word count is? I am having trouble loading it on my phone…
November 14, 2010 at 9:20pm
[comment by my dad] how?
November 14, 2010 at 9:26pm
[comment by me] Oh, you can probably see the right number in the right sidebar on my blog.
November 14, 2010 at 9:29pm
[comment by my dad] 22527
November 14, 2010 at 9:30pm
[comment by my dad] about 800 short
November 14, 2010 at 9:32pm
[comment by me] Thx. 22527+315=22842 … So another 158 til 23k? Will try to get there by midnight.
November 14, 2010 at 9:36pm
[comment by AE] good luck. hope hubby is feeling better.
November 14, 2010 at 11:28pm
[comment by me] Thanks. He seems to be feeling a bit better, but is in the hospital for at least one night. His nurse is new, and used to work at another hospital, and they remembered each other from when he had the surgery in February. (She remembered me too, but I don’t remember her. Especially not in NaNoWriMo.)
November 15, 2010 at 12:29am
[comment by me] 23k by 12:30am. Still a bit short, but at least I get another Care Bear sticker (which I will put on Sunday because I’m doing creative math considering the day I’ve had).
November 15, 2010 at 12:37am
KC is totally catching up, I have to write like crazy to stay ahead of her tomorrow. π
November 14, 2010 at 11:34pm
Finally got back to Mom and Dad’s house. Spending the night here, leaving early to go home, get 2 days of mail, and go to work. I counted my words in the email but missed one, so I actually wrote 2620 Sunday (updated the NaNo site at 11pm from my phone and it’s one word off, no biggie). 2010 total is 22843, 2009+2010 total is 30450. Aiming for 25k minimum by tomorrow night.
November 15, 2010 at 12:25am
I know I am supposed to be writing 2k to get to the 25k halfway point, but after a long weekend I am vegging out and watching TV. I can catch up when I have all those days off (I work 5 more business days, then off the rest of the month)… or tomorrow, if I am so inspired.
November 15, 2010 at 11:09pm
only wrote 322 on my lunch break… but it’s the start of a new little section that is something I hadn’t planned, that I think is going to be pretty good… still have to figure out how much I want to actually stick with the “facts” of the Trojan War (definitely more fun to make it up and add the facts later).
November 16, 2010 at 2:23pm
Okay, here we go because I think I need it: I give myself permission to not make the war in my novel anything like the “real” Trojan War… except the parts I feel like using (essentially freeing myself from *some* self-inflicted insanity).
November 16, 2010 at 4:42pm
[comment by AE] Permission granted!
November 16, 2010 at 7:19pm
[comment by me] Thanks, A! π I’m not writing the war tonight anyway though – I’ve decided Cass is going to do a college visit at Adelphi University, the site of Apollo’s oracle (based of course on the Oracle at Delphi), where she is considering the School of Oracular Studies to get her BA in OS. 30k-ish so far (including last year) and there is actually very little about the war… I might want to get on that next!
November 16, 2010 at 7:47pm
Okay, so I was inspired by SB and did a 42-ish minute yoga video via Netflix streaming onto my computer (first time doing a yoga video, and I swear it was over and I was like, “hasn’t it only been fifteen or twenty minutes?”), and I’m so comfy I was considering not writing… but then I watched Lindsey’s Halfway There” NaNoVideo, and I am psyched to get back to it… must bookmark this and rewatch every time I need a boost! I β₯ NaNoWriMo
[linked to said video]
November 16, 2010 at 9:53pm
[comment by SB] Yay! I was thinking the same thing when i did my 45 minute yoga routine this evening – the time flies so quickly (unlike on a treadmill, where I’m checking the clock every 2 seconds). Yoga gets so addicting, in a good way.
November 16, 2010 at 10:33pm
25,013! Technically 12:23, but I’m counting it as Tuesday because it’s close enough. I may not have been in the mood to write after all, but it sure feels good to cross the halfway point! Plus I only work four more days this month, so I have plenty of time to catch up. NaNoWriMo
November 17, 2010 at 12:25am
woke up feeling blah, tired (i can feel it around my eyes), and in general just wanna crawl in a hole… then i was looking at the facebook messages from overnight and this morning, and when i got to my last post i was surprised and happy. i forgot that! leaving for work in ten, but that definitely puts an extra bounce in my step. i wrote 4128 last thursday, and i just need one kinda-big day to get me back on track.
November 17, 2010 at 8:52am
[comment by me] my goal: 4676 more by midnight; nano goal: 3321 more by midnight. lunch time means earbuds, music, and WriteMonkey fullscreen, and possibly hiding out on another floor. i think i’ll try 4th floor, overlooking the Hudson River.
November 17, 2010 at 8:54am
In case anyone was wondering, I totally managed to get my dream/song “Nice duck and underwear thong” into my novel! Ryan Quinn, I know you were on the edge of your seat waiting for this. π
November 17, 2010 at 2:12pm
[comment by RQ] Oooh… Did we add a verse, or is the second verse same as the first?
November 17, 2010 at 5:45pm
[comment by me] No, just the one line. Cassandra tells the dean of students at Adelphi University that a student just committed suicide on campus, and the dean reacts with the Dangerous Minds inspired “go back out there and knock this time” speech. So she narrates: I am completely stunned. For all he heard me, I might as well have been singing “Nice duck and underwear thong” to the tune of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
November 17, 2010 at 9:38pm
[comment by RQ] Right on! See, it was a burst of inspiration, not a touch of craziness (or both, lol)
November 18, 2010 at 5:27pm
Nope, just don’t feel like writing tonight. Updating my Kindle (adding new freebies) is more fun at the moment.
November 17, 2010 at 11:02pm
Uh oh. I put my last dream-song into my novel, “Nice duck and underwear thong” …and now I got another one. It had a country-western twang to it, and a man’s voice sang two lines that must lead into the chorus: “So take your beeeeeeer…. and pour it on a dog.” WTH is up with my subconscious mind?! And when does Cass have time to listen to a homeless man singing a drinking song?
November 18, 2010 at 9:07am
[comment by me] Oh wait, nvm. I actually DO have a homeless man scene to write…
November 18, 2010 at 9:07am
not satisfied with Greek gods and goddesses, I just added a mermaid to my novel. could Poseidon be far behind?
November 18, 2010 at 11:06am
[comment by me] I thought she was going to be really nice… but she actually hates Cass for “stealing her man” Apollo, who had a one night stand with her and never called her back.
November 19, 2010 at 9:14am
1229 words at lunch brings me to 1686 today, 26729 total. goal is 4707 more (or close to it)
November 18, 2010 at 5:08pm
27007, 2993 to go to be on track for nano, a bit more to be on track for me
November 18, 2010 at 7:46pm
Good thing I wrote this morning and at lunch, because I worked late and didn’t write anything after I got home. SO tired! Goodnight.
November 18, 2010 at 10:59pm
SO tired still. This time of month is not conducive to NaNo. I think I’m having another zero word day. Good thing I have plenty of time to finish my last 23k! π
November 19, 2010 at 8:26pm
Slow week means I’m now looking at 9k to get caught up… that means I’m starting now and writing like crazy, and hoping to have done at least 2k before noon (3k is better) when I leave to get hubby from the hospital. Then bring him to my parents’ house, then sit there and write like crazy and try to get at least another 3k by midnight. I don’t think I will get all caught up today, but hoping for at least 5k.
November 20, 2010 at 9:28am
a coworker and I were watching this the other day at work… I am back to doing research for the crazy homeless guy in my novel, and this still makes me laugh.
Crazy homeless guy in San Francisco scaring people
November 20, 2010 at 9:41am
[comment by me]OMG – this is a comment for another video, and I think I have to steal this quote for my novel: Yesterday when we were paying for parking this random man walked up, showed us his veteran’s id and said, “I’m not full of shit unless I crap my pants! And I do that sometimes!” and then he got on a bus.
November 20, 2010 at 9:50am
Moving on thanks to the help of CB…
“For my luxurious locks?” he asks, patting his head like he’s Lady Godiva. He’s trying to make a joke, but he takes the brush and starts to pull it through his stringy hair. “Thank you, Honey Doodle.” I laugh at his odd term of endearment, but he doesn’t seem to notice.
November 20, 2010 at 10:11am
[comment from CB] So glad I could help! Now get back to typing! PS I am typing too!
November 20, 2010 at 10:29am
27393 this year, 35k total (woo-hoo!) which means I have 25k total left to write to reach my 60k total goal.
November 20, 2010 at 10:56am
NaNoWriMo tip: Just because your main character tells you in one scene that she will never ever do something, it doesn’t mean you can’t make her do it in another scene. Simply start with her saying, “I know I promised I would never do this, but…”
November 20, 2010 at 11:06am
1745 before noon, close enough to my goal. Time to get a few things together, then go get hubby! Yay!
November 20, 2010 at 12:15pm
oh wait… i’m supposed to be writing, not watching katy perry’s duet with elmo on youtube…
November 20, 2010 at 6:16pm
29,585 and will definitely hit 30k soon.

Not sure if my girls are going to Panera this morning, but I figure I’ll wait and see if anyone complains that I’m not there, then I’ll go. Otherwise I’ll probably get there around 11.
November 21, 2010 at 8:52am
Heading to Panera to write and get my free smoothie.
November 21, 2010 at 11:20am

“Oh, dear Zeus. My vision ends there but I don’t need him to say where the soldiers are from to know. Jersey took names, and now they’re coming to kick our collective ass. Even if I wasn’t cursed now, I could never in a million years convince the citizens of New York that New Jersey is coming after us with a vengeance.”
— 30,689 this year/38,296 total (clearly I am writing a bit of a comedy)

[comment by KT] Dear God it’s a horror! My sister in law and douche bro live in NJ aka the armpit of America! Geesh
November 21, 2010 at 1:38pm
[comment by me] It gets worse… Cassandra later has a premonition that Jersey is actually going to WIN the war (yeah right, like that would ever happen). But don’t worry, Cass is going to manage to convince NY to take her seriously, and they are not going down.
November 21, 2010 at 1:56pm
[comment by KT] Thank God. NJ should just fall off the face of the earth!
November 21, 2010 at 4:01pm
[comment by me] That’s why I love telling people in NY about when Cass tries to tell them that NJ is going to declare war, and then the press conference breaks out into Yo Mama jokes about Jersey… “Jersey’s mama’s so hungry, she wants to eat the Milky Way!”
November 21, 2010 at 4:04pm
Cassandra’s twin brother has officially reappeared in the story….
“Did you meet her at Hooters?” Linus asks. “Please, tell me you met her at Hooters.”
November 21, 2010 at 2:31pm
I love first drafts… “Peter was pretty convincing when he told us about her, and one look at them together made me want to vomit… all over her.”
November 21, 2010 at 3:22pm
32035, woo-hoo! two more Care Bears on the calendar for today. π will have to post a new photo soon, there are a TON of Care Bears partying down. lol
November 21, 2010 at 3:41pm
Lainie (my version of Helen) is the daughter of a mob boss, and wife of a rival mob boss… so when Cass’s older brother Peter steals her, we now have two very pissed, very powerful mob bosses in New Jersey ready to come to NYC and kick some ass… or at least try to, but Cass would like to change that outcome.
November 21, 2010 at 3:47pm
2009+2010 total = 39,699… I will hit 40k before I head home! π I just have to figure out how rough the Jersey cops (who are on the take with the mob) are going to be with Peter…
November 21, 2010 at 4:15pm
32396 this month, 40003 total. Which means 19997 to go by November 30th. Time to head back to my parents’ house for a bit, then home so I can work tomorrow. Then off the rest of the month. π
November 21, 2010 at 4:28pm
Last day of work until the end of next week. π Then plenty of time to write 19,997 words by November 30. π
November 22, 2010 at 8:18am
2500 words a day to win NaNoWriMo with a grand total (including last year) of 60k. 2201 if I am aiming for just 50k for this year. Time to write!!!
November 23, 2010 at 4:46pm
No really, I have to start writing now!
November 23, 2010 at 5:52pm
Got to 1013 total for the 23rd, which is not bad considering I had 169 words until 11:30pm when I finally went back to writing. LOL. So now my goal is 2712 per day to reach my goal. Just have to get some more parts of the story straight in my head so that the writing comes easier.
November 24, 2010 at 12:02am
oh, my word count is now 33,409 by the way (41,016 including last year). crazy behind, but i can do it. i just need to start early in the day and stick with it with lots of mini breaks.
November 24, 2010 at 12:48am
Fact: “Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals” is seven more words than “SPCA.”
November 24, 2010 at 11:46am
“My parents come home late that night after a charity dinner for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Ironic that my dad’s a huge supporter, considering he is deathly afraid of cats.”
November 24, 2010 at 11:51am
34k… and now my brother and I are road tripping to my house to see if hubby’s prescriptions came in.
November 24, 2010 at 12:23pm
waiting while my car gets its oil change done, then home to keep writing… trying to get some done while I wait too.

[comment by me] Hey girl, how’s it going? (And feel free to BBM me if you want to talk/vent.)
November 24, 2010 at 7:45pm
[comment by RQ] Unfortunately writing has gone right out the window for me this year – I have lost all ability to write. The emotional disconnect over the last few days, and with Shawn having free time on his hands, he is dragging me through the “honey do” list this weekend. At least the house might get presentable enough for me to have my girls over for dinner one of these weekends!
November 24, 2010 at 8:00pm
[comment by me] At least you started writing something! And next year you can try again. I am planning on writing my butt off the next few days to try to catch up a bit. I am trying to get to at least 3k for today’s total (currently around 1600).
Cleaning is a luxury I do not indulge in frequently. I can definitely relate to that.
November 24, 2010 at 8:05pm
[comment by RQ] You are totally kicking ass this year – I’m cheering you on, and I expect that you will finish this year and make us all envious!!
November 24, 2010 at 8:16pm
[comment by me] Thanks! This is nothing, my first year I was done November 21! (…after hubby proposed the 17th, and I was working 6 hours a week.) So I feel like I’m behind, but I know I can finish. I’m starting to gain that “it’s all downhill from here” momentum.
November 24, 2010 at 8:35pm
[comment by KC] <– Hoping that she is one of RQ’s mentioned ‘girls’
Hope you are both having a blessed day with your families. (me) — I am so crazy proud of all of the writing that you are spinning out. Had some medical issues this month that have just made it hard to concentrate. β₯ and hugs
November 25, 2010 at 7:59am
[comment from me] KC, you are totally given a free pass for the month. RQ too. Just like last year I totally gave myself permission to “fail” with all the days hubby was in the hospital. Next year is another challenge, though, and I’m counting on you ladies to try again! π
November 25, 2010 at 8:17am
[comment by RQ] Oh, I wouldn’t pass up another chance next year. Sometimes I wonder what it is about the month of November that makes it so challenging! And keep in mind, I’m not going to pass up a chance to still see you sometime over the next few days at a Panera somewhere!
November 25, 2010 at 9:31am
[comment from KC] I had no excuse last year! π I am getting better though. Already seeing improvements since I am seeking alternative treatments to my medical issues. And heck yeah — next year will be fab for all three of us. We should def get together soon.
November 25, 2010 at 10:00am
[this went on a bit, I’m not including everything]
wow, 420 words written on my blackberry in about half an hour waiting for my oil change.
November 24, 2010 at 5:19pm
omg, so close to the magic 35k I can almost taste it! (34,420)
November 24, 2010 at 5:35pm
I haven’t looked at my notes in a few days, but I’m doing pretty well with following them. I will finish with a first draft that needs a LOT of work, but things are falling into place. I have a few more filler scenes, then the fun end stuff. Tomorrow I might have to work on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade scene because… well DUH! My inspiration will be right there on the big screen (my parents’ TV is huge). π

November 25, 2010 at 12:00am
119 words of chocolate chip cookie recipe, just added to my novel. It’s officially a NaNoWriMo novel now! π
November 25, 2010 at 10:56pm
1,311 today – 37,740 this month – 45,347 total. Tomorrow I plan on trying to write throughout the day. Will I catch up? Maybe, maybe not. But I can almost see the finish line now. π

40,004 and counting!!!
November 26, 2010 at 11:42pm
Okay, official word count for Friday night. 2462 today, 40202 this year (woo hoo!), 47809 total. I don’t know if I’ll hit my 60 total goal (52,393 this year), but my first goal is hitting the magic 50k. If I finish the last 2393 December 1st I’ll still be thrilled.
November 26, 2010 at 11:52pm
Lindsey Grant is only 31 words ahead of me? I can do that… then I can do more! I am going to start my writing for the day, and I’m aiming for about 2500. in 2 1/2 hours… hmm… writing music time!!!

RQ and I are at Panera, waiting to see if KC shows up…
November 28, 2010 at 10:21am
[comment by KC] Other people have more important things to do so I have no car. Let you both down this month. I’ll explain it all later. Hope you’re both having a good day.
November 28, 2010 at 10:37am
[comment by my hubby] Just hope you’re making it a productive day
November 28, 2010 at 1:59pm
[comment by me] 850 words so far, which is not a lot but I’m getting to the point where I should soon be on a roll.

Cassandra, after bringing her BF back to NYC 10 yrs into the war: “The fashion capital of the North East United States has relocated from New York City to Boston, Massachusetts. I think they decided Providence, Rhode Island didn’t have enough college students to lure into the fabulous world of living paycheck to paycheck in model apartments, swapping out their ramen noodles and Easy Mac for crackers and diet water.”
November 28, 2010 at 2:07pm
41,397 this year… which means 49,004 total! π Less than 9k to reach 50k for the month, and less than 11k for my 60k grand total. In three days? Game ON!!!! π
November 28, 2010 at 2:32pm
Stopped midsentence to update my word count on the site… 41,414! π Okay, back to work…
November 28, 2010 at 2:38pm
This is a test. My program says my word count is 41,925. The nano site says… 41,926. Awesome! 8,075 minimum to go, let’s see how far I get today.

[Another obligatory quote from my novel…] “Because I may have the perfect idea to solve your dilemma,” he says, grinning like the cat who ate the canary (another awful cliche – clearly I should never be a writer).
November 28, 2010 at 3:23pm
[comment by me] That is Cass narrating that she shouldn’t be a writer, it’s not ME saying I shouldn’t be a writer.
November 28, 2010 at 3:24pm
The good news is I hit 50,015 words! The bad news is that it includes what I wrote last year, so I still have 7592 to win NaNo this year. The good news is that my pace is picking up. [next part said in sexy female robot voice] Commencing Phase: Endgame in 5… 4… 3… 2…
November 28, 2010 at 3:51pm
42,627… which means my 60k total goal is less than 10k away now, and my 50k NaNo goal is 7373 away. π
November 28, 2010 at 4:09pm
44k!!!
November 28, 2010 at 9:51pm
45,054 words. That’s 4507 today!
November 28, 2010 at 11:19pm
[comment by my sister] Wow. That was quick
November 28, 2010 at 11:19pm
[comment by me] If I can get another 1613 before I go to bed, that will be back on target for the NaNo 50k in 30 days (which says 1667/day, so by midnight tonight the goal word count is 46,667). I probably won’t get it quite by midnight, but by the time I go to bed, definitely. π

“Better watch out / Going for the knockout / And I won’t stop / Till I’m on top now / Not gonna give up / Until I get what’s mine / Better check that, I’m about to upset / And I’m hot now / So you better step back / I’m taking over / So watch me shine … Bet you don’t think I can take it / But my mind and body are strong / Bet you don’t think I can make it / IT WON’T TAKE LONG!” – Watch Me Shine (Legally Blonde CD)
November 28, 2010 at 11:29pm
5012 words today. Definitely don’t think I’ll be done with the story when I finish my 60k total goal, but there is a lot of stuff I need to edit out later. Will definitely keep going past 60k to try and finish the story by Tuesday night.
November 28, 2010 at 11:52pm
[comment by me] Oh yeah, 45,559 for the year and 53,166 total
November 28, 2010 at 11:53pm
Nevermind, got in a few more so I’m less than 1k behind where NaNo says I should be. 5130 today, 45677 this month, 53284 total. 990 behind, but I will write that before I go to sleep (but it will count as a head start on Monday’s word count).
November 29, 2010 at 12:01am
“Write your goddamned book now.” -NaNo pep talk from Dave Eggers β₯ guess I’d better get to work!

[comment by RQ] And all I’ve accomplished today is painting about 1,000 feet of intricate 140 year old molding “ultra bright white”. π
November 29, 2010 at 9:42pm
[comment by me] Can you imagine how mushy my brain would be if I’d written it all today?! lol
November 29, 2010 at 9:44pm
48604 and I’m telling instead of showing. I’m ready to just be done. I don’t think I’m going to go for the 52393 (60k grand total), just 50k and get an ending done. This book needs a TON of editing, and I might get back to it some day but for now I’m pretty much over it. It’s been a big challenge, and it would be a lot better if I’d had an outline to work off of. But at least I’ll be able to say I finished.
November 29, 2010 at 9:44pm
[comment by KC] So very very proud of you! Totally rocked it this year. *hugs*
