I am planning to do a mani tonight to post tomorrow for Pink Wednesday, but I didn’t really say much about who I am in my first post, did I? Allow me to introduce myself now.
My name is Michelle and I’m 29 years old. I live in New York state with my husband of almost 2 years. I’m a Children’s Librarian, and I love my job. We’re trying to start a family (yeah, girls, you know EXACTLY what I mean!) after a really rough start to our marriage (he had severe back pain, which turned out to be his appendix causing 14 months of problems before the doctors figured it out).
I have a Kindle and I love it. I have over 730 books on it, and I can carry it in my purse and never be at a lack for something to read. And no, I didn’t buy anywhere NEAR that many. Amazon puts out a lot of freebies, plus I get free books through NetGalley. So I’ve probably paid for under 50 books in 3 1/2 years. I’ve done NaNoWriMo every year since 2007, and the only time I didn’t “win” in 2009 is because my husband was in the hospital half the month (literally, 15 days) and I had a lot of other things on my mind related to his health.
My intention with starting this blog is to keep a record of my manicures. I have so many different techniques I want to try, and I like the idea that I can watch my skills improve… and so can you. I might do swatches, I might not. I’m thinking not, because so many other bloggers do them (and I can just link to them if I want to share them), but I reserve the right to change my mind in the future. 😛
And from my lovely Facebook/polish friends, here are answers to a few random questions:
shoe size: 7.5 wide – I get the “wide” from my dad, and it makes it a bitch and a half to get shoes sometimes because a lot of the designers don’t make wide shoes, so I usually go to Payless.
favorite polish color: It’s hard to pick just one, but I will say that Zoya Michelle seems to have been made just for me. (Obviously, it’s pink.)
favorite ice cream flavor: Mint chocolate chip, but I can’t have ice cream anymore because it makes my IBS flare up. I can have sorbet, though, and I love raspberry sorbet. 🙂
toilet paper in or out: Definitely “out” although I usually call it “over” – that’s the same thing right? I like my toilet paper to come over the top, and I will change it at other people’s houses if they have it under (but not in public restrooms, because that’s just icky).
put something silly: Um… Okay, this is me trying to type my first name with my nose: kj89dfy43opop34
